Dynasties | Chen Dynasty 557-589

Decline continued during the Chen Dynasty - the last of the six dynasties in the South. A strengthened and unified North took control with little trouble. The demise was hastened by one of the first uses of printed propaganda, the Northern leader distributed 300,000 leaflets decrying the weaknesses of Hou Zhu and thereby convinced many that Heaven no longer backed the dynasty.
