The empire was briefly re-united under the strong ruler Jin Wudi (emperors should be prefixed with the dynastic name to give the full name as there were several Emperors called 'Wudi' ) At this time the first accurate grid based maps were produced. After rivalry amongst members of the ruling family the Empire of the North was overthrown by Northern non-Han tribes and the capital Changan was sacked.
