Laying track on the Chengdu-Kunming Railway in Yunnan 1974. There are high mountains and deep valleys along the total length of 1,085km of track. With changeable weather and high risk of severe earthquakes the line is a spectacular feat of engineering.

The line was electrified in August 2000.
