Sayram Hu (Lake Sayram or Lake Seilimous) in Xinjiang Province (1976)
Far north western China borders on
Kazakhstan
with a Central Asian style of landscape.
It is a remote part of China, as it is 2,000 miles east of Beijing and separated by vast tracts of desert.
The ancient Silk Route enters China not far from this lake.
