The Temple of Heaven is at the heart of the Forbidden City in Beijing. As well as large impressive steps and courtyards these are many fine statues and trees. The elephant in this photograph is particularly attractively scuplted.

This archive photograph was taken by a SACU member in the early 1980s when it was still possible to find a quiet time with no tourists around.
